Officers and staff gathered in our Memorial Garden at HQ this morning to honour and remember all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Eighty serving Durham Constabulary officers who lost their lives in service were also commemorated at the service.

Those based out at stations also made their way to local memorial sites across the county to pay their respects.

After two minutes silence, wreaths were laid by our force chaplain, Reverend Adrian Gatrill, Chief Constable Jo Farrell, the Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham Sue Snowdon, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Nigel Bryson, Federation Chair Andy Jackson and Unison Chair Roy Collins.

This Remembrance Sunday, we will also be taking part in the service at Durham Cathedral and parade through Durham City, which starts at Palace Green and goes through the Market Place to Millennium Square.
