Can you help officers investigating a robbery in Bishop Auckland?

The incident happened shortly before 8.50pm yesterday at The Late Shop, in Proudfoot Drive.

Two men threatened a female member of staff with a kitchen knife before stealing the till and running out of the shop.

The suspects, who were dressed all in black, are believed to have made off in the direction of Howard Close towards Bishop Auckland College.

Detective Sergeant Claire Callaghan, from Durham Constabulary, said: “This was an extremely frightening incident for the victim.

“Thankfully she did not sustain any injuries, but she was understandably left shaken by the incident.

“We have been working hard to trace the suspects and are carrying out several lines of enquiry, including viewing CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house enquiries.

“We’d like to speak to anyone who may have any information that could assist our investigation.”

Please call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 409 of May 3 with any information.

Alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
