Durham Constabulary aims to deliver an excellent, customer-focused service to the people of County Durham and Darlington.

We value the commitment of the Police Community Support Volunteers who help us achieve that aim.

We want to encourage communities to get involved in the issues which directly affect them and appreciate the extensive range or skills, experience and local knowledge volunteers can bring to our service.

If you are thinking of becoming a Police Community Support Volunteer you will have your needs and expectations taken into account. In return, we will provide you with an interesting and rewarding experience, supported by experienced officers and staff in various tasks.

Police Community Support Volunteers are drawn from all parts of the community - they are not members of staff, they do wear uniforms but are not warranted. They perform their agreed voluntary roles alongside police staff and officers and are vetted to a level appropriate to the roles they are asked to fulfil.

If you are interested in becoming a Police Community Support Volunteer with Durham Constabulary, please follow the application process on the Vacancies page.
