  • 23 November 2017 - Off Road bikes Pelton Fell

    PELTON FELL

    Historically there have been issues with the use of off road bikes within Congburn Woods. These Off road bikes have been coming from both Waldridge and Pelton Fell 

    ​Newfield

    no issues for Newfield, the odd incident of Anti-social behaviour which has been dealt with in conjunction with the Durham County Council ASB team.

    Crime wise, theft from motor vehicles has increased this is part is due to vehicles not been locked.

This is what we have done

  • 23 November 2017 - Off Road bikes Pelton Fell
    PELTON FELL:  PCSO Walters and residents of Pelton Fell and Waldrige have formed the "Friends of Congburn Woods" group to tackle off road bikes and misuse of the woods. They have a group that can be found on Facebook where updates are posted.
     
    The  aim of this group it to tackle the many issues that have surrounded the woods over the years, this includes off road bikes, fly tipping and general litter problems. This group will be assistingthe park rangers in carrying out various tasks to ensure the woods are protected and accesssable to all.
    Many community groups and representatives are involved in this group. If you would like to get involved please email PCSO walters below

    NEWFIELD:  Although no major trends to report patrols have been conducted in the area
    Newfield Residents meetings are held on the first Monday of each month
