Active Priorities

  • 24 July 2018 - Anti Social Behaviour and Speeding:
Anti-social behaviour continues to be a priority for West Pelton, High Handenhold and Beamish.

This is what we have done

  • 24 July 2018 - Anti Social Behaviour and Speeding:
High visibility patrols will be carried out by police throughout the villages.
Advice will be given to residents regarding keeping valuables out of sight when leaving the house unattended as well as keeping sheds, garages and motor vehicles secure.

Due to speeding being a key priority expressed by villagers. Community Speed Watch has been conducted in our villages this month. For West Pelton, speed watch was conducted on Twizell Lane and St Paul's Terrace. On this particular date there we no issues identified with speeding vehicles. However, speed watch are constantly carrying out checks in the Chester-Le-Street area; and will return in the future.

In Beamish, checks were carried out in multiple locations on Station Road. As a result of speeding vehicles, these results have been forwarded to the Road Policing Unit for further action.
