This is what we have done

  • 02 May 2019 - PACT

Following an increase in vehicle crime over recent weeks in the Blackhill area, officers are currently carrying out daily targeted patrols at various times of the day/night in the key areas where damages have occurred. The aim is to provide a visible presence in the community for reassurance, but also to prevent further offending and gather intelligence to identify offenders.  Officers are also using the opportunity to speak to residents and offer advice around vehicle security.
The initiative has been ongoing now for the last 2 weeks and the feedback from residents has been extremely positive.
Enquiries are still ongoing in to the recent damages and Police are urging anyone with any information to contact Durham Police on 101 or they can ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Do you care for, or are you the family of an elderly or vulnerable adult who is at risk of going missing?  Have you heard of the Herbert Protocol?
Sign up and work directly with the police and their partners to ensure their safety.  The Herbert Protocol is a scheme which will see family, friends, and care providers working together not only to prevent vulnerable adults going missing but to improve responses for locating them if they do.  The protocol will be running throughout County Durham and Darlington.  When you sign up, we will contact you to discuss the process, suggesting steps to prevent particularly vulnerable people going missing, as well as contingencies for a swift response should the individual fail to return.  To sign up contact 101 or email Herbertprotocol@durham.pnn.police.uk

The next Blackhill, Bridgehill, Benfieldside and Shotley Bridge (BBB&SB) Partnership meeting will be held on Thursday 6th June 2019 at the Baptist Church, Pemberton Rd, Blackhill Consett DH8 8JG.  If you have any problems or concerns please come along and speak to your local officers.  Alternatively you can contact us on 101.

These are the policing priorities that local people have agreed with your policing team. You can have some influence on future policing priorities by attending your next PACT meeting.
