Centred on a hilltop between Chester-le-Street and Consett, Stanley is the second largest town in Derwentside.

This policing area covers the town centre of Stanley and the adjacent mining villages of East Stanley and South Stanley, which are now all referred to as one town, as well as a number of villages.

The area has a Local Strategic Partnership which focuses closely on crime and disorder issues and is underpinned by the Derwentside Community Safety Partnership.

We are improving the way we engage with you via PACT (police and communities together). It may mean some poorly attended PACT meetings are cancelled, but alternative ways to engage will be introduced instead. It could see your neighbourhood PC or PSCO visiting places like the local library, baby groups, post office, sports classes or even the pub to hear your views.  Visit your neighbourhood policing team website page or Facebook and Twitter feeds for the latest details.
