 Appeal after collision leaves two seriously injured


​POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car collided with a tree, seriously injuring two of the occupants.

The collision happened at around 3.30am on Sunday (May 5) on the B6279 between Egglestone and Kinninvie.

The red Citroen C1 is understood to have been in Barnard Castle to collect passengers before travelling up to Egglestone. It then headed towards Kinninvie on the B6279 when it left the road and collided with the tree.

Four people were in the car at the time of the collision, with two of them suffering serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage which could help the investigation should call Durham Constabulary’s Collision Unit on 0191 375 2159, quoting incident number 71 of May 5.
