 Cannabis farm found in Evenwood


​Police have uncovered a cannabis farm in a house in Evenwood.

Officers found about 150 plants when they visited the premises in Swan Street on Tuesday, January 29.

Evenwood Beat Officer PC Scott Crowhurst, said the discovery had been made thanks to information received from the community.

“We will always look into any information we are given by residents,” he said. “In this case it has been invaluable to us in finding this cannabis farm”.

“We would encourage anyone who has any concerns about crime in the area to contact us. Working together with the community and our partners can really help us achieve good results.”

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis.

Members of the public are invited to speak to officers at the next Pact meeting which will be held in the Cornerstone Church, on Thursday, February 21, at 10am.
