 Consett man caught with Class A drugs jailed


A man found with Class A drugs, cash and a weapon in his car has been jailed.

Aaron Telfer from Consett was stopped by police driving his car in February last year, when officers discovered packets of cocaine and MDMA as well as a lock knife and large quantity of cash.

The 24-year-old, of Hydenside, Consett, was arrested at the scene.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of MDMA with intent to supply and possession of bladed article whilst in a public place.

He was jailed for 30 months at Durham Crown Court on December 19.

PC Martain Anderson, from Consett Police said: "We will continue to proactively target and disrupt organised criminals in the local area to get them off the streets and behind bars.
