 Did you witness an assault on the A691 near Witton Gilbert?


Detectives are appealing for information following an assault which occurred on the A691 at Witton Gilbert, Durham on Wednesday (December 18) at around 7.30am.

It is believed the suspect followed the victim in his car along the road. When the victim stopped his vehicle, the suspect got out of his car carrying a bat and hit the victims head and body causing a broken hand, wrist and cut to the side of his face.

The suspect then drove away from the scene in a blue Ford Focus car.

A 38-year old man was arrested on suspicion of assault but has since been released under investigation.

Police are now keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
