 Elderly man suffers serious injuries after being struck by car


​AN elderly man is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car last night (December 13).

The 92-year-old was struck by the Renault Clio shortly after 10.05pm last night on High Northgate, in Darlington.

The car was travelling south approaching the traffic lights at John Street when it struck the pedestrian in the carriageway.

Paramedics also attended the scene and took the casualty to hospital.  

The driver and passenger of the car – two men aged 49 and 32, respectively – were not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 475 of December 13.
