Interceptors goes live on Channel Five!

The new series of Channel Five's 'Police Interceptors' starts at 8pm on Monday, 14 September.

Camera crews from the popular show, which is now in its eighth series spent several weeks earlier this year filming with the men and women from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU).

They covered a wide variety of incidents including high-speed pursuits, serious crashes, drug raids, searches for wanted people and firearms alerts.

The CDSOU includes the police helicopter, dog section and motorbikes as well as the road policing unit. All the officers cover both the Durham force area and Cleveland, with the unit's base just off the A19 at Wynyard.

In Durham, traffic officers generally report for duty at Spennymoor police station and each day of filming saw a camera operator join the teams at their 7am briefing before they went out on the roads for the day.
