A DARLINGTON drug dealer has been jailed for more than five years.

Javid Khaliq, formerly of Neasham Road, Middleton St George, admitted one count of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court last Friday (June 8).

He was sentenced to five years and five months in prison.

From February 2016 to September 2016, the 40-year-old regularly dealt heroin to a number of users across Darlington.

Detective Constable Paula Temperley, of Durham Constabulary, said: “We are really pleased with the sentence, which is the result of a long-running investigation.

“I hope the local community feels reassured that this drug dealer is now off the streets and behind bars.”
