 Male voice choir celebrates 70th anniversary


​The Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a concert at Spennymoor Town Hall, on Saturday, April 27, at 7pm.

The choir, which was formed in 1948, will be joined by the award-winning Houghton Area Youth Band for the evening.

The group holds up to 20 concerts a year and helps maintain links between the force and the community. It also helps charities and groups raise thousands of pounds every year.

Rehearsals take place at Coxhoe Village Hall, every Tuesday, between 7pm and 9pm, except during July and August. It is open to all abilities of singer and all organisers ask for is commitment.

Admission is £2 per rehearsal, which goes towards the hall rental and other operating costs.
