Man arrested following Police stand-off

A man has been arrested following a stand-off in which he threw petrol bombs at police.
Attempts were made to negotiate with the 47-year-old over a period of nearly 24 hours in attempt to resolve the matter peacefully.
However, the man refused to come out of the property in Lintz Terrace, Burnopfield.
A police cordon and armed officers were deployed to protect the officers and members of the public as the individual had thrown a number of petrol bombs.
Despite repeated attempts by specially trained negotiators, and with no resolution in sight, at approximately11.30am officers entered the property.
The man had barricaded himself in the loft. Following further negotiations he left the loft and was arrested for threats to kill and criminal damage.
No police officers or the man arrested were injured during the incident.
We would like to thank members of the community for their patience and co-operation during this incident.
