More than 300 plants seized from Stanley cannabis farm

​MORE THAN 300 cannabis plants were seized from a property in Stanley earlier this week.


On Wednesday morning (January 30), officers executed a warrant at a property in Park Road, South Moor, which was being used as a cannabis farm.


A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis after trying to escape via a rear window. He remains in police custody.


A Durham Constabulary spokesman said: “The warrant was carried out as a result of information received from the local community. 


“To take action against organised crime we rely on members of the public who come forward with vital pieces of intelligence.


“If anyone has any concerns about potential drug production or drug dealing in their area, please get in touch with us via 101, or call 999 in an emergency.
