 A fraud protect officer has been recognised for his work


A passionate fraud protect officer has scooped a National award.

PC Tony Murray who is the National lead for economic crime and fraud took home the ‘Leadership, creativity and innovation’ award at the City of London Police annual gala on Friday night (June 7).

Tony has been seconded to the City of London Police since November 2018 after being recognised for his prevention work carried out in Durham.

He said: “I’m so proud of Durham and want to people to know I’m flying the flag for my home force and nationally, I’m so pleased.

"It’s nice to know that through creative ways we are able to engage and empower communities across the UK”.

Tony came up with the fraud and economic crime communication initiative ‘Tell 2, protect many’, this campaign asks people to forward on fraud and cyber-crime prevention messages to people in their real world, starting with Tell2 family and friends.
