 Police appeal after stabbing in Shildon


POLICE are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Shildon.

The 29-year-old was stabbed in the garden of an address on Sunnyside Avenue, Shildon at around 9.20pm last night (November 13).

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with multiple stab wounds which are not described as life threatening.

A 29-year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent, causing grievous bodily harm.

Detective Constable Jeremy Downing of Bishop Auckland CID said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident, and we do not believe there is any threat to the wider community.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact us as soon as possible.”
