 Prolific offender given jail term for Spennymoor burglaries


A PROLIFIC offender has been handed a three-year jail term after committing a string of burglaries.

Callum Brown, 25, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Durham Crown Court on April 12.

He was given two years in prison for three burglaries which occurred at Everson Way, Parkside and Byers Green in Spennymoor.

He was also given six months for breach of a restraining order and criminal damage, after throwing ammonia over the car of his victim, as well as further time for breach of a community order and public order.

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “I hope this sentence gives the residents of Spennymoor some much-needed respite and peace of mind.”
